Request from Hollywood

So, my friend Melissa lives in LA and works in Hollywood at a talent agency as she is trying to become a writer. She needs some midwestern help with a project. She could use…

just a short description of any good memories people have from there [Busch Stadium] - waiting in line for tickets, memorable games, or personal stories that happened to them there, first dates, last dates, whatever

Update: What does this all mean? Well, it means you should tell your best Busch Stadium story in the comments section of this post and if it is too indecent to print there (I know my stories are) then send them to me in an email.

Science Chicks and Fame

So, basically a girl I know Emily has become famous in the science world because of her lab work here at Mizzou. The articles are Here and Here. It’s pretty cool. We met at the gym a while back and she was all peepin my Bis while I was doing my curlz and stuff, and she came over and was like “OMGz I soooo want to make out with you.” and I was like “Sorrys I need to get my last set done” and she got all mad and walked off. So, yeah, I wish I would have made out with her then. At least she makes some good cupcakes for me.

Update: Link to another article.

Yes, I am an idiot

So, just realized how much of an idiot I am. How? Well, I was jamming out to “Everything she does is magic” by Sting & The Police as I am getting ready to go to the gym. Then I stopped and realized I’m an idiot. Just like that. I really alread knew it, but that epiphany just sealed the deal. It’s weird. Kind of one of those guilty pleasures. A lot like my penchant for jamming out ot Janet Jackson in my car. Yeah, me and JJ have a special thing going on that you can never touch. Something that is pure and true. There, I said it.

So I got cookies a couple times too…

So, it turns out that my friend Stacy is all upset now because she has made me cookies a few times but never got credited on my website or whatever like Emily got for brining me a cupcake. Well sorry… just don’t go and start a snack war and stuff. I am trying to lose weight.

Happy St. Pats.

Cupcake for me suckas! Some wonderful lady that I know seems to have hand delivered me delectable baked goods. (Thanks Emily)

Nerd Drive 2006 Underways!

So, I finally decided that for Nerd Drive 2006 we are going to go hybrid on this. So, this is what we are going to do.

1) If you would like to get something I really need, buy a Dell gift card that I will use towards purchasing a new Dell monitor as mine is currently changing groovy hues of pink and purple on random occasion. Each person who wishes to contribute can buy me a gift card here. Now, I believe the lowest amount you can buy is about $50. I know that only my family who owes me so much due to the happiness I bring to their lives and the various women I… ahem… provide other services for will be able to afford this, so if that is to rich for your blood (you cheap bastards) then try option 2 or 3.

2) If you would like to get something more personal, you can always just go to my Amazon Wishlist Page. There are some cool stuff on there. I am hoping to put some excercise clotheses on there cause I am really into working-out lately so that might be something for you to look at. Otherwise the rest of the stuff is a safe bet. If that is not enough garbage for you to pick from, you can go to my secondary list with all kinds of wacky junk on it.

3) You could be the most awesomest friend evar and buy me a iPod Video 60GB Black MP3 Player with “I am the Internet.” engraved on the back.

4) If you want to be a rebel, just get me whatever the hell you want to.

Need Suggestions for NERD DRIVE 2006!

Ok, so “Nerd Drive 2006″ will be kicking off fairly soon. For those of you that don’t know what “Nerd Drive 2006″ is it is my birthday (January 21st, 1980). So, the reason I am posting this and holding the drive is because there is a problem that most people find with getting me gifts. First off, I am incredibly hard to shop for because I like a lot of stuff, but I have most everything I need, so either the things I want are really expensive, or they are specialized and thus tough to find in a B&M (Brick and Mortar) store.

So, to help this perdicament I have decided to hold the “Nerd Drive” just like I did a couple years ago because it was quite successful and made it easy on people. The thing is that there are a couple of ways I could think about going about this whole thing.

  • I could make a wishlist online of things I want and people can pick off that, but not find what they want or just think it mostly junk like DVD’s and Books.
I have compiled a fairly decent Amazon “Nerd Drive 2006″ Gift List here. Some of the stuff might look weird to you, but its what I need and like.
  • I could ask everyone to buy me gift certificates at some place like Best Buy and pool all those together to get what I really need like a iPod (Yes, I need one, cause I have known about them even before they were and are out, I had one of the first MP3 players, I have the largest music collection, it would be awesome for working out, and I am the only person on earth who doesn’t have one) or a nice Dell Flat Panel Monitor for my computer (my current one randomly turns hues of pink and purple at random). The problem with this is that I completely destroy a persons fulfillment in getting a special gift from themselves to me.

Please leave your comments on what you think I should do in the comments section (notice the link down there) below.

Get Better Soon Ashley

Well, a really sweet girl I know in St. Louis named Ashley got in a really serious car accident on Tuesday, the same day that I was almost killed in an accident myself. I just wanted to take this opportunity to wish her my best in healing up soon.

Be safe everybody, it’s the holidays and I want you all to be around for them.

So, I almost died on the way to work today.

I pull forward through the intersection onto Providence Road. I turn and look out my driver-side window, startled by the sudden blairing of a Trucks horn, and begin to stare at an older mans freightened face coming at me, arm high in the air as he is pulling the cord of his horn hanging from the cab of his truck. The next instant there is a huge crunch as I watch chunks of a dark SUV fly in all directions as the Truck plows into the driver-side door of the vehicle behind me. I keep going, staring in my mirror as the entire intersection comes to a stop. I had to be traveling at 30 MPH in a 55 MPH zone as I glance in my mirror, my mind is stopped, still trying to understand what just happened. By the time my brain begins to process information again and the questions “Should I stop?”, “Is the person okay?” start to come around, I am already halfway across town beginning to pull into work.

I’m not kidding. I still am pretty freaked out. I’m not talking about someone cutting me off or something stupid like that. No, I am talking about a friggin CONCRETE Truck coming down Providence directly at me laying on the horn and flying through the interesection as I am crossing through it. I guess the universe determined that it should be mearly fractions of a second that seperated the fate of the person behind me from mine… and I hope they are okay.

Not to be overly sappy here, but I guess this is a good reminder of how important it is to value our time on this planet. Unfortunately I haven’t been doing so lately, I have gotten too caught up in the more trivial things.
